Alyce Stanley is from Kingwood, Texas. She went to the University of Texas at Austin for undergrad and got a B.S. in Advertising. Her love for helping others is one of the main reasons she was attracted to Optometry as a profession and why she decided to join SVOSH. As president, she hopes to work along side the other wonderful officers and members and help change the world, one set of eyes at a time.

Vice President: Brittany Degler

Brittany grew up in Boca Raton, FL. She received her B.A. in Economics from the University of Florida (Go Gators!!!) and is still awaiting a proposal from Tim Tebow. She has had the opportunity to travel and to be a part mission work over the past few years and is so excited to be able to help her classmates to do the same and to experience the joy of helping others.  

Secretary: Shannon Bell

Shannon Bell is from Brentwood, California. She graduated from California Polytechnic State University in December 2011 with her B.S. in biology with a concentration in anatomy and physiology. She has been passionate about eyes since she got her first pair of glasses (boy, were those a sight to see!) and hopes to make a difference in the lives of others through outreach opportunities with SVOSH. She spent the last seven years working for a local optometrist and is excited to use that experience, along with all that she is learning now, to improve the health and quality of life of those around her.  

Treasurer: Amy Philip

Amy Philip is from Dallas, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin (hook 'em horns!) in 2011 with a Bachlor of Science in Psychology. Amy was involved with various service organizations throughout college and spent a year tutoring low vision students at the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Austin during undergrad. Amy looks forward to helping further SVOSH's fundraising efforts and serving the community through this organization.

Leanne is from Riverview, New Brunswick, Canada and graduated from Montréal's McGill University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Interdisciplinary Life Science. She is well acquainted with organizing and directing a variety of community events, fundraisers, and outreach initiatives. She hopes, with SVOSH members, to broaden SVOSH's involvement around the world and to reach out and help those without access to care. She's excited to see where in the world SVOSH will go this year!

In South Texas born and raised, At UT Austin was then where I spent all of my college days, Hanging out, swimming, researching all cool, And all of a sudden, I was done with school, Worked in an office, took the OAT, and, Because I'm no fool, Said You're going to UHCO, the best optometry school!

Humaira is from Lenexa, Kansas and went to the University of Kansas to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry.  She first got interested in SVOSH during her first year at UHCO and decided to become involved with updating the community about events, fundraisers, and mission trips through the organization's blog.  As the Web Master, she hopes to update the website design and continue providing the public with the latest volunteer information!

Historian: Jason Christman

Jason studied photography and business at BYU-idaho, and earned degrees in both. He worked as marketing director, digital artist and lab manager at Gugelman photography for 6 years before finishing his prereqs for optometry school and moving to Houston. Jason is currently a second year student at UHCO. Jason is married and has two children.
